A Little Child’s Horrible Death. CENTRALIA, Aug. 15.—Mary Wrentzel, daughter of Jacob Wrentzel, living near here, was fatally scalded this afternoon. Her mother went out to borrow something from a neighbor, leaving her child, which was but two years old, lying on the floor. The child crept to a tub of hot water which the mother had poured from a boiler before leaving, and fell in. Her screams were heard by a neighbor, who ran to her rescue. The mother is frantic with grief. |
